4K North Star Trails and Milky Way Photography in Pine Valley, Utah · Polaris Vinyl
Long exposure night photography from Pine Valley, Utah. These two sets of photographs capture star trails and our night sky. These sets helped me determine the correct exposure and optimal time for night photography at nearly 7,000 feet (2100 meters) above sea level. The first set of photographs, Polaris Vinyl, faced the north star (Polaris) and was photographed for over one hour in Pine Valley, Utah, USA.The second set of photographs, Milky Way Rising, faced east and was photographed for over two hours in Pine Valley, Utah, USA. Next time, I will cut the exposure time in half while reducing the Milky Way’s star trails.Equipment used: Mirrorless camera, 14mm lens at f/1.8 lens, sturdy tripod, cable release

Requirements
Your Assignment, should you choose to accept it, (you should since it’s graded) is pretty open-ended this time. We’re covering the basics of video editing, story-telling, and production in class, now let’s see what you can do with it. You are to create a 3-minute (plus or minus 15 seconds) video that tells a story featuring at least one person. You get extra credit if you include a well-made time lapse (I’ll show you how). If you need music, www.audionautix.com is a great place to start for music that’s legal to use (with credit).
Encode your video as a .mp4 file, h.264 codec. Upload your file here as a .mp4 or a .wmv, or post a link to a YouTube upload. Good luck!
P.S. I will give you 25 points extra credit on this assignment if you create a musical with original music performed by your cast.
This assignment is for Digital Photography course (ART 2060) at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah taught by Alex Chamberlain in the Fall of 2015.

Minecraft Stop-Motion Movie Creator
My son received a Minecraft stop motion video kit for his birthday, and we had to try it out. This is his first time making a stop-motion Minecraft movie or any movie, actually. I helped him add some sound effects, but it was all shot with one of my older Canon digital SLR cameras.
This was shot using Minecraft mini-figures and Minecraft Animation Studio by my son, Hudson, who is eight-years-old. Minecraft stop motion with Lego Steve mini-figure. Also, it has a huge creeper explosion.
